Hargans Cottage is our little cottage for two in the historic village of Carcoar. We created it as a place to step away from the busy for a few days, slow down and make yourself completely at home.
We personally prepare the cottage for every stay. The fire can be ready, something homemade will be waiting, and the kitchen will have a few lovely things tucked away for you to enjoy.
You don't need to arrive with a long list of plans. Put your bags down, pour a glass of wine, find a sunny spot in the garden or curl up by the fire. Wander into Carcoar when you feel like it.
For a few days, there really is nowhere else you need to be.

Three nights gives you time to properly settle in. Enjoy a slow morning at the cottage, wander Carcoar, explore the surrounding villages and sit down for a beautiful meal without feeling like it’s already time to pack up and leave.

Nestled beside the Belubula River in historic Carcoar, Hargans Cottage was once home to local mechanic Tremayne Hargans in the early 1900s.
Today, it’s a quiet little place to call home for a few days.
Every room has been thoughtfully put together with beautiful linen, handmade ceramics, collected furniture and the simple, natural style you'll recognise from Tomolly. Nothing is too precious. Settle in, find a sunny spot with a book, light the fire or simply enjoy having nowhere you need to be.

One of the loveliest things about staying in Carcoar is that you don't need much of a plan.
Wander through the village, browse the local shops and galleries, stop for something to eat, take a walk or simply head back to the cottage and do very little at all.
If you feel like venturing further, Millthorpe and Orange are within easy reach, with beautiful food, wine and plenty of places worth discovering.
Or don't.
Some of our guests barely leave Hargans at all.

The linen, furniture, homewares and little details around the cottage have all been chosen with the same eye.

And while you're in Carcoar, wander down to Tomolly and say hello. We're just a short walk from the cottage.

Sometimes you just need a few days away.
A fire to curl up beside. A slow morning with nowhere to be. A wander through the village, a good book in the garden, something delicious waiting in the kitchen and the luxury of deciding not to do very much at all.
Come for an anniversary, a weekend with your mum, a few days with an old friend or simply because life has been a little too busy lately.
